Marketing plan

This is my marketing plan that will help me build my freelance business.

So far I have achieved much more developed skills and training into them, mainly in my singing abilities. My belting range has expanded a lot since college, and various techniques such as avoiding your break etc. However I am still hoping to improve more everyday, as I want to fully understand my own voice, how to use it fully, my current limitations and how I can break through them. I also wish to expand my styles/genres in dancing and go out of my comfort zone, along with acting (for example classical plays). I feel improving these aspects of myself as a performer will benefit in the long run as I will have a lot to offer when opportunities arise. Keeping up with all the skills gives you that advantage of being favoured over someone who relies on one skill. In the long term, I hope to go to uni or drama school, where I will fully commit and take advantage of all the resources and advice given to me.

I need to organise myself more, for exampling scheduling auditions and motivating myself. I need to find the initial motivation that will drive me to working efficiently.
I aim to attend many more auditions to gain experience in a professional environment and how to behave, to ensure you give the right impression. Last November I attended the annual Lion king open auditions in London. This was my first professional audition outside of education, which gave me a unique experience on how it was like. I also took a lot from what I had studied about professionalism to the audition. I felt very relaxed throughout the process and comfortable around everyone including the long panel in the audition room. It was a friendly atmosphere which I didn't expect, especially coming from auditions for a West End musical. I also took a lot from my audition and what I could have done better and what I could have changed to of possibly gotten a call-back. However I feel location is another prime advantage as you will need to be travelling constantly for rehearsals. It definitely gave me the motivation to continue developing my skills, particularly as other auditionees gave advice to others about the process and friendly feedback.

I hope to achieve a large following on social media, in order to get noticed and hopefully supported by other fellow aspiring performers, as well as people that may be interested in employing me. I am going to build a platform for myself that covers all areas of my skills and not relying on just one thing. For example, I want to display my abilities in dance styles, singing styles and acting diversities. I want to ensure I am heavily involved in arts/film consistently so that I don't lose my drive. There's always something new to learn too, that you can learn from others and different experiences. Last year I went to an audience viewing of the Celebrity Big Brother Launch. However when we arrived we were turned away as they already had filled up the audience, despite giving out excessive tickets. From this, I learnt about reading carefully the terms and conditions which state they give out more tickets than needed so they guarantee a full audience, meaning you would have to get there as early as possible. This relates to when you receive contractual agreements in employment and the importance of reading thoroughly before you agree to it.
In terms of agents, I want to find an agency that suits me best. I am most interested in Identity Agency Group, as they cater to those mostly from multi-cultural ethnic backgrounds. This therefore will benefit me well as as they understand how to help you succeed as your own business.

My strengths/past successes include high grades particularly in the performing arts, receiving an A in GCSE Dance, and so far a Distinction and Distinction* in college. I have been chosen for main roles in productions and have won past titles as part of my former dance group in the company 'T21'.

Marketing platforms

Social Media:
help me connect with all types of people and may give me business opportunities if I am attracting specific people in the field of performing arts.

My actor's website designed in Wix.com

I have used clear photos displayed on most of the pages, all slightly different in mood. For example one of my photos features me laughing, whereas another is a serious head on shot. I have included my CV which states all my skills, and an updated log of shows i've been in/ will be in. My contact details are easy to access from the homepage, making it clear to navigate around the page.

My professional actors' instagram account

I clearly lay out my basic information, with my full name, age, what I do, my location area and contact info.
Here, I aim to upload 2 a week (preferably on a Wednesday and sunday), with headshots/photos, experiences to do with acting (e.g Day of Lion king auditions), rehearsal pics/clips, and performance pics/clips. I want to post more on my singing which will be the next step for me, along with acting scenes from performances.

My professional actor's twitter account

My twitter account needs updating more regularly. I find it hard to know what to post on twitter, however I aim to tweet more about upcoming shows, performances and attempting to engage with others on the site.

I am looking into setting up a Youtube channel, where I would possibly discuss experiences in performing arts as well as representing myself and my personality. I feel this would gain subscribers and from here I could post dancing, singing and possibly vlogging videos. I could also include monologues. As people can comment on your videos, it may be a helpful way to get feedback on certain things. It also gives the chance for people to reach out to you if they want to contact you.
